Looking for the perfect spring and summer dessert? Well let me tell you, this is IT! This sugar cookie fruit pizza recipe is a huge hit with my family. It’s the dessert of choice for any warm-weather gathering because it’s fresh and feeds a crowd! It’s the perfect balance of sweet sugar cookie with not-too-sweet cream cheese frosting, fresh fruit, and a punch of lemony zest. Plus, you can prep some parts of this sugar cookie fruit pizza recipe ahead of time. I’m making this as my Easter dessert this year.

This sugar cookie fruit pizza recipe comes together in 3 easy steps:

  1. Make the sugar cookie dough in a 13-inch round pizza pan. Let the cookie cool completely before topping with the frosting and fruit.
  2. Make the lemony cream cheese frosting. You can do this while the cookie is cooling.
  3. Spread the frosting on the cookie and top with the fruit of your choice.

Can I make the sugar cookie fruit pizza recipe ahead of time?

Yes! I recommend making the sugar cookie fruit pizza recipe the day before. You can store it at room temperature. Then the day that you plan to serve it, make the frosting and top with the fruit. You can do this part a few hours before serving and store in the fridge. I don’t recommend topping with fruit and frosting the day before as the fruit will wilt and you may end up with a soggier presentation than planned.

A few secrets to success:

  • Chill the sugar cookie dough in the pan for at least 20 minutes before baking. This will help the cookie keep it’s shape.
  • Let the baked cookie cool COMPLETELY before topping with frosting and fruit. This is SUPER important. If it’s too warm everything will melt and slide.
  • Store the completed fruit pizza in the fridge until serving. Store any leftovers in the fridge as well.

A word about the fruit

You can top with the fruit of your choice, but berries and pineapple work really well. I recommend at least 2-3 different kinds of fruit.
